National Schools Snowsport Week Returning in 2018

An initiative to encourage more schools to introduce their pupils to snowsports will return for its third year next spring – shortly after the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea have completed, so hopefully interest should be extra high.
The National Schools Snowsport Week was launched by Snowsport England in 2016 and its third staging, from Monday 23rd until Sunday 29th April 2018, will see Snowsport Wales joining in too.
The week is staged at dry slopes and indoor snow slopes and clubs across England, and now Wales, and schools are offered free or heavily discounted snow fun and introductory snowsport activities. Schools with children from primary right through to sixth form are welcome to take part.
National Schools Snowsport Week is being backed by two Winter Olympians; British snowboarder Aimee Fuller and British Alpine World Cup skier Dave Ryding.
"I started skiing when I was at school and used to spend hours and hours at my local dry slope. It is a great sport for young people and I hope the performances of our British skiers and snowboarders will help inspire more people to give snowsports a go. It is great that the week gives children of all ages and all backgrounds the chance to try skiing or snowboarding," said Ryding.
The 2017 event earlier this year attracted 77 schools and 2293 young people and the organisers hope the 2018 week will be bigger still. More information: http://www.nssw.co.uk
