 Summary

Nestled in the heart of South Tyrol, Watles boasts over 30 kilometers of well-groomed pistes, catering to all skill levels. With a family-friendly vibe and excellent facilities, it’s an inviting choice for winter sports enthusiasts.

The ski area of Watles is in the Italian Dolomites at an altitude of 1,738m 5,702ft , with 18km 11 miles of marked runs.

Watles is part of the Ortler Skiarena area with access to 123 marked pistes, served by a total of 79 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Watles itself ( 18km 11 miles of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Ortler Skiarena ski resorts of Haideralm, Latsch Tarscheralm, Maseben, Mendel Ruffrè, Meran 2000, Pfelders, Reinswald, Rittner Horn, Schnalstal, Schöneben, Schwemmalm, Sulden am Ortler, Trafoi am Ortler and Vigiljoch.

The ski resort itself is at 1,738m 5,702ft , so skiing or boarding back to the resort is usually possible. With ski lifts as high as 2,500m 8,202ft , snow cover is generally reliable.

The Watles ski area sits at an elevation of 2,500 meters, offering a scenic backdrop for skiing. Notable pistes include the blue Piste 5 and the red Piste 2, while the modern lifts like the Watles Gondola provide quick access to the slopes.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Watles is Bolzano, 76 minutes drive away.

Innsbruck Airport, St. Gallen-Altenrhein, Verona, Friedrichshafen and Memmingen airports are all within three hours drive.

To reach Watles, fly into Innsbruck or Verona, both offering excellent connections to the region. From there, a scenic drive through the Alps leads directly to the resort.
