Any info on St Wolfgang please....

Hi,am off to St Wolfgang feb 21st, has anyone else been,whats it like,haven`t been ski-ing for about 7 years so am really excited,if a little nervous......cheers

Hi. I have been to St Wolfgang twice in the last 2 years. I was there in January and there was no snow in the village. It did not snow the whole week we were there, but there was plenty snow up the mountains, we had blue sky's all week so it was pretty icey. I have stayed in The Furian and The Zimmerbrau hotels. I liked both hotels equally and thought the food was very good in both. The village is not very big with only a few bars, found the Kap Horn to be best. Ideal for a quiet holiday.
There are 2 ski areas, Postalm and Gosaeu. Both are reached by bus. Postalm takes about 25 minutes and Gosau takes about 40 minutes. Depending on your skiing level, Postalm is the easiest with a lot of blue and red runs. Gosau has a larger ski area with more difficult runs.If I can help you with any other info let me know.

If you haven't been in a few years I would recommend a day or two in Postalm - it is also beautiful and staff are really friendly.
Gosau then for the more challenging slopes. Although it connects to Russbach by ski lifts and their slopes are more like it for me anyway(:) I found Gosau slope tricky but then I have only been sking for a few weeks)
I will be going on 24th Feb for a week so let's keep the fingers crossed for a big dump of snow!!

you can buy a Ski pass in Postalm for both Postalm and Dachstein West area (Gosau, Russbach etc) but be sure to ask for the double pass as it is a couple of euro more for this.

I don't think the ski pass for Postalm and Dachstein West work here though, but it is really close....
