So what are the must do runs in Mayrhofen and the other Resorts on the Super Ziller pass?

Get up the mountain early and have a couple of blasts on red 1, 6 and 11 down the front. These get busy and carved up during the day so its nice to burn down them early on nicely groomed.

The runs down the back of Penken into Horberg are also nice, quite steep and challenging in places, not liked at all by early intermediates.

My favourite was always red 7 from the top of the Schneekaar lift up Horberg, a nice long varied run back down, and black 17 although its only a straight line is a good test with a steep drop at the end.

I'd recommend the runs down the back of Rastkogel which get the sun, but dont go too late in the day. Head up the 150er Tux cable car.

My best recommendation however would be from Rastkogel to take the ski route over to the bottom of Eggalm and platy on the lovely reds there which are practically deserted.

Obviously you will want to consider the Hari Kari, black 18 as it is on the map. Take the Knorren lift over the top of it and have a view from above to see what conditions are like first though.

The often ignored runs down the other side of Penken are good too: 12 and 13 to the Katzenmoos lift which is a slow 2 man chair and long as well!

We used to come off the main mountain area some days around 2.30 and take the Penkenbahn back down to the town, and then take the Ahorn cable car up for a platy on the Ebbenwald run, red 4, which is a great winding tree lined wide red. At the mid point you can take the 2 man chair back up (mind your knees) or turn right and burn down the black/red 5 which is known as the Ahornabfahrt and is the only actual piste from mountain to town in the resort. It can be very tricky, especially late in the day when its possibly thawing in places and icing up again, or cut up by the days skiers. We found it was amazing at about 10.30 in the morning.

Take the train from town to Zell (10 mins or so) and the bus to the main lifts, and we found we had a good full day down there.

I'd also recommend taking an early bus and having a full day at Hintertux. Many people only head up there is snow in Mayrhofen isnt great, but we decided to have a day up there and its like another ski area, you wouldnt really know its a glacier, although obviously it is colder up there and higher too. Some cracking runs up there, and very good snow too.
