Located in the Ötztal Valley, Pitztal boasts the highest glacier skiing in Austria. The resort features over 40 km of pistes, ensuring ample space for both beginners and experts to enjoy their winter sports experience.

The ski area of Pitztal comprises the ski slopes of HochZeiger, Pitztaler Gletscher and Rifflsee.

The ski area includes 3 Ski Resorts with a combined total of 48km 30 miles of downhill skiing, with 40 marked pistes, served by a total of 22 ski lifts. The appropriate Lift Pass allows you to ski or snowboard in any of the ski areas of HochZeiger, Pitztaler Gletscher and Rifflsee.

The ski resort itself is at 1,740m 5,709ft , so skiing or boarding back to the resort is usually possible. With ski lifts as high as 3,440m 11,286ft , skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Pitztal is Innsbruck Airport, 60 minutes drive away.

St. Gallen-Altenrhein, Memmingen, Bolzano, Friedrichshafen, Salzburg, Zurich and Munich airports are all within three hours drive.

Innsbruck Airport is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.

To reach Pitztal, the nearest major airports are Innsbruck and Munich, both offering convenient access to the resort. From there, travelers can take a train or shuttle service to the Pitztal Valley.

Snow-making is available, on 6km 4 miles of ski runs, with 18 snow cannons.

When is Pitztal open?

We don't currently have confirmed season dates, but hope to soon.

Usual opening is mid September, and usual closing is Mid May.
