Rifflsee

One of Europe's highest and most snow-sure ski areas, and certainly the highest mountains in Austria's famous Tyrol, Pitztal's glacier ski area is accessed by an underground funicular (with 10,000 stairs running along the side of it) from September until May. The local pass covers two other ski areas - one on Rifflsee, the other on Hochzeiger. There is also a Burton-Funpark for snowboarders to enjoy.

Summary

The Austrian ski resort of Rifflsee is in the Austrian Alps at an altitude of 1,740m5,709ft, with 45km28 miles of marked runs.

Rifflsee is part of the Pitztal ski area with access to 48km30 miles of downhill skiing, with 40 marked pistes, served by a total of 22 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Rifflsee itself (45km28 miles of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Pitztal ski resorts of HochZeiger and Pitztaler Gletscher.
