Hi Ally
Have never discussed this issue with anyone I've shared a T-bar with I just take it as read that that's what will happen and you can tend to tell instinctively whether they'll have the same inkling as with T-bars IMO you can assess the ability of the person you're sharing with. Maybe if I was with someone who was unstable or shuffling about a lot or hanging on for grim death it may be worth a mention before reaching the top! If there are 2 exit points in that the T-bar goes up to where there is a piste or run off both sides then I would always say the person closest to the operator's hut should be last off, just as they would be in the one run off situation. But then that's just my opinion on that particular scenario. |

Hi guys I think what is considered normal practice would be for the person slope (piste) side of the T lift to go first and then the one furthest away from the piste is responsible for coming off second and throwing it away, or at least that's always been what's happened in my case. I always assume if I'm slope side I'll get off first and leave them to release it, or if I'm away from the piste let them get off first and then get rid of it myself. This obviously makes sense from both a space and safety point of view as once the piste side person has left there's then room for the other to come across after releasing the T lift. |

Believe me Eric in there will know EXACTLY what's been paid and whilst I agree that you would need to fill out all the detail again if booking through skiset I would recommend you book the level of equipment relevant to yourself or book the basic and upgrade in there if need be. The booking system is all computerised so at the click
of a button he can pull up what's been prepaid etc. |

Just a quick heads up on the electron card with Ryanair as of 1 jan 2010 you'll be charged to use this card to pay for flights, only way to avoid a card charge with them now is to use a prepaid MasterCard ...

Just to clarify a couple of things there is a ski bus stop directly outside the hotel which will take you down to the gondola and likewise coming back up the hill at the end of a days skiing though depending on your standard you can ski directly back to the hotel and can even ski the cross country motorway back from either of the two drag lifts up by the gondola. Likewise you can take the drag lift opposite the hotel and ski in the other direction and end up right at the gondola. My kids were beginners at the start of the week and after 3 days could ski both ways on these routes thus making life easier and negating any walking or ski bus at all. Regrading ski school meeting place if you're absolute beginners then the red school do also meet on the slope opposite the hotel and not just down at the gondola.
Thanks Jenno |

Hi Goppy stayed at the Harfenwirt last year on a late deal ( say stayed in but were in one of the nearby guesthouses which suited us fine). Found everything about it great, there were 11 of us, extended family ages 4 thru to early 60's couldn't fault the place. Like you i read up on trip advisor and had some doubts but Herbert was great always took time to ask how everyone was etc. True you get sat with others but got to know a few other people at the hotel and everyone was having a great time. Fab new pool area there too, small changing area if you don't have a room in the hotel itself but otherwise great for relaxing in. Herberts wife Gill who's English runs the Sonnschein, went there for a drink a couple of nights and made welcome, is a newer hotel but not having stayed there can't comment on it's food/pool etc. Either way think you'll have a great time and do try to catch Herbert and his harp playing one night. Skiing area can be limited but bus can be got to 2 other ski areas as well but Niederau though small is very friendly and has a great small town vibe. Hope this helps a bit in any decision making!
PM me if you want any more details but if you're thinking of booking thru Inghams who I know have deals on to both at the mo then assuming they've kept the same reps then they were fantastic as well! |
