Worryingly am not sure if you mean that in relation to the topic title or the helmet phraseology ... :P Am sure I'll have a great time, at least here's hoping! Thanks C-a  |

Poor, in fact very poor, word play for a topic title  but ...
Am off on Saturday, early hours, to Livigno (in reality down to London on Friday evening then off from there) so apart from Wickers' previous advice are there any others out there that can add to Ian's tips to get the most out of the resort? Will report back accordingly the week after next but be warned - am getting my excuses in early here! :-) - I can be somewhat lazy when it comes to snapping away so any report may be heavily worded yet lacking in full colour pictorial detail - will do my best though, failing me taking many myself I'll hijack the pics of my fellow attendees ... Will try to make sure I get some helmet shots too   ... |

Well I've organised a babysitter and booked a table for two ... just hope the wife enjoys playing snooker as much as I do ... :D

Cue tumbleweed blowing across ... |

It isn't a huge jump to consider the fact that if the impact was slightly different then heads could easily have collided though and if that had have happened then I would go out on a limb to suggest both would have wished they had been in receipt of some cranial protection!

which I do state in my post if read properly :) |

Wickers I couldn't agree more that a helmet may not protect all extremeties however protecting Poirot's favoured little grey cells over all else could certainly prevent flatlining. The You Tube incident could well have resulted in various broken bones but should their two heads have collided then who knows what shape they may have been in. I have no preaching message for or against helmets but if I can protect my noggin first and foremost at least should something happen one thing I can cut the odds on is being in cloud land, cuckoos or not! |

And this is the reason I'll be helmetted up for the first time in Livigno the week after next, not wanting to raise the helmet issue again but the reason for wearing it is not that I intend to ski beyond my ability in terms of speed or run difficulty (though will of course slightly challenge myself within reason for improvement purposes) but it's to avoid someone like that careering into me!
Same reason I'm loathe to ride a motorbike, would quite happily trust myself to ride safely but it's the other road users you can't account for! Opinionated Jenno over and out. |
