NikC sorry didn't ever manage to meet up for that birthday beer, ChrissyG, steady on you'll be accused of stirring ) caron-a, I understand that sometimes it isn't very helpful when someone is being negative about business at holiday times when the same will occur in most resorts.

Personally I was in N from 21st to 28th Feb as a party of 11, myself, an intermediate, and then 9 beginners and an infant. All I can say is that we had a thoroughly enjoyable week and yes I appreciate that there isn't a huge number of runs (but of course it is possible to jump on the ski bus to go 15 mins down the road) but for our group N provided everything we needed.

Great ski school (red), 6 different instructors used by our entire group due to being spilt into various classes and kids classes, some private tuition etc, and each one was excellent. Again it has been commneted on before that there are too many drag/T bars which I appreciate but this didn't spoil any of the fun for the ability of skiers within our group. All in all a great holiday, great people in resort and met some great people in ski school and out and about and I wouldn't swap a thing.

Would I go back? Absolutely, most definitely for the ski school and then maybe when the immediate family are at a more advanced level we would look to go further afield - that's not to say we wouldn't consider anywhere else as am sure there are numerous great schools around, I guess all in all it will always come down to cost (at least for us) but this time around N fitted the bill perfectly.

Good luck :D And that goes for Sunday morning too! :D

Ski-ing is a great cure for a hangover - unlike coming into work which just seems to heighten the 'experience' ! :(

All better now though, if only a little tired, but I have a neighbours 1st wedding anniversary party to go to tomorrow night so Sunday morning I may well feel a little delicate too - though by the time I'm well into my Sunday, and have recovered and it's worn off you'll just be waking up to experience yours ha ha  - that's supposed to be more of a pukey face than an embarrassed one

But enjoy yourself, enjoy your ski-ing and enjoy the party! :D

See ya!

Oh no! :( Hope it's okay today and doesn't hamper you too much!

As for me as predicted am now tired, sore head and wanting the day to pass me by rather quickly :D

You'd think I should know better by now but somehow it seems to be a regular Thursday night/Friday kind of thing :-)

Oh well live and learn - or not as the case seems to be!

Have a good days/weekend worth of skiing - only 8 days till off to Austria yippee :D

I can imagine the North East right now wouldn't be the warmest of places for any bareback riding :D

Quite like the way you said 'at present' though

Roll on the summer eh? Though not sure what you can do about your horse being bony and uncomfortable! :-)

Jumping on your horse bareback - good job the British sense of humour in me refrains me from slipping in a questioning titter as to which of you were bareback

  Haven't tried that one in a while (interpret as you will...!)

LM: Hope the MRI scan goes well and you get your knee sorted soon - it can't be much fun skiing and riding in pain all the time.

In case anyone is interested, the reason why you can't take certain metallic/electronic objects into/near a MRI machine is that the machine itself is essentially a very large (and extremely powerful) magnet. I think there are videos online of objects (such as wheelchairs!) flying towards them and sticking, which are quite amusing, but quench the magnet which costs a fortune to fix. :D

 - only about the wheelchairs and things flying into/onto an MRI scanner. Not about you riding horses bareback - am very blase about that

Cheers for the vibes will carry them with me till I go and during too! :-)

And thanks for the link, it looks a fantastic place and somewhere a little bit further away from the mass tourist trade, or certainly away from the typical tourist ski areas of Canada offered through normal agents over here. Will have a word with my mate (got back today so am waiting for his ongoing report of Lake Louise!) and tell him it comes highly recommended! :-)

As for plenty of Brits in the liftlines not so sure if that's a good thing or not ha ha

And do you have a facebook account by any chance as if so will PM you my full moniker and you can decide if you want to add me :-) or not :(

What normally happens is I have so many flaming log ons and passwords for things that I'll forget who I am on here, disappear and then reappear under a totally different name :!: I wish I could make out that it's because I'm risque and make close to the knuckle comments. Alas it's only because am a half arsed dimwit who can't keep track of things  :D
