Would anyone have any tips on how to obtain both a modicum of speed yet be in total control without more or less coming to a standstill on turns when coming down a steep, narrow pitch?
For example in Livigno (although as Ian W has pertained to it doesn't have many true 'blacks') the very, very final descent into the Carasello 3000 gondola is a short, steep and often busy run where, apart from jumping into turns whilst traversing I find it difficult to keep any fluidity in my skiing as each turn totally kills off any of the speed, but saying that, and watching from the apres-ski bar it would appear a lot of people coming down do just that, but any little tips would be good, just in my own mind this start/not quite stop approach seems a little tame! |

I have to agree with Coop, we took our 3 girls, ages 8, 5 and a non-skiing 3 at the time (in February 2009) and the two oldest loved the skiing lessons there and got on well, not to mention a 'starter' wife who shocked me by turning from a non-sporty type person into a total ski lover, and that for someone I thought wasn't the most adept at this kind of activity!
Big bonus being that we now have an active ski family. Niederau's not a huge resort by any stretch of the imagination either slopeside or in town, but for a family IMO to have somewhere compact where everywhere is easily walkable is a bonus. Am sure Dave Mac will be around soon once he's finished doting on Herr Klammer ) |

Ian, not wanting to be pedantic  but you were keen to pick someone up on mickey's or rather miky's (though I'm not sure whether that was an inference as to it's spelling or actual proof of location!) but can we please revert to the local name and stop reverting to the 'Montolino' side, that's not it's name!!!
