Have you learned anything about yourself on a recent ski trip?

I know last year I learned that confidence is everything! Was fortunate to be holidaying in Banff and had a big, big wipeout on the Ladies Downhill Course at Lake Louise, twisted binding, smashed goggles (and yes thankfully wearing a lid!). So having been totally knocked decided a 1 hour private lesson was the way to go. So first run to be assessed down a nursery slope, fine. Moved onto a blue (equivalent of a Euro red) fine, then onto a tree lined black, only there was some snowboarding timings going on so only had a quarter of the slope to use and had about maybe 20 - 25 feet width between boarders and the trees, and again, came down it absolutely fine, and that was that, spent the rest of the hour just chatting with the instructor and getting some general improvement tips but having had the confidence built back up I was sorted for the rest of the week! So there you go, for me I've learned that it's all about the confidence and having belief in your own ability!

This sounds very tempting depending on workload etc as long as a 36 year old won't drag you down! :-)
If you can remind me nearer the time (us 'old 'uns' can get very forgetful you know!) but my regular ski associate is now with baby so I could well be at a loose end and ready to go, especially to Niederau, let's hope am free (and that the wife gives me the nod!) |

Are you sure it isn't anything to do with you having a soft spot for Fernando Torres Dave?!
