Am now going with a couple of my wife's cousins and friends so 7 of us in total heading to ... Livigno. Bit of a trek for me having to go from Gatwick down from just outside of Liverpool but for all of £22 return can get there from Runcorn easily enough courtesy of Virgin trains. Here's hoping the return flight is on time to catch my train back up!
And I know, I know, it's a long transfer but hey am sure it's fantastic once there isn't it Mr Wickham? Please tell me it is :D

Join a group trip.
Fancy La Rosiere at the end of Feb? I've got 3 places to fill.

Definitely can't do January unfortunately as am an accountant (whisper it!) so with tax return deadline looming at the end of the month Jan is a total no go!

The only, very slight advantage is that next year Jan 31st falls on a Sunday so assuming I'm not totally overloaded and having to work on the weekend all will be done by Friday 29th, hopefully that's not wishful thinking!!!

If it were me going on my own, I'd probably return to somewhere I know well, in my case Mayrhofen, so you might find it best to go back to a place you are familiar with.
However, I'd search high and low for a ski buddy to go with and then try somewhere new together. Myself and Skidaddle first did Sauze together on a very cheap last minute deal.

I've had to go solo a few times; it usually worked out well. I've a skied with a SCGB rep - or with folk I met up with during the rep's social/office hour. I used to be a SCGB member - but you don't have to be to join the rep for a trial day - and the office hour often used to have skiers turning up whom you would find you would be welcome to join the next day - even if not going with the rep. If that appeals, then you need to go to a resort where there is a rep - they are listed here.
If that doesn't suit, think about sharing a room in a chalet - maybe by checking around with TOs on the phone. Saves you single room supplement - and automatically generates someone who might ski with you! Being in a chalet also means you are mixing with other skiers (OK - and boarders)at breakfast, tea and dinner - and gives you the chance to join in with a group.
Of course, if you join an existing group, as suggested above, you have ready-made company.
Good luck. :D
