 Posting Pictures

To Create or Answer a Topic you must Login
You're welcome to include pictures in your posts on J2Ski but you need to follow some simple guidelines for everyone's benefit.

First, you need to know that J2Ski won't "host" your picture; i.e. you can't "upload" it here. So you need to have your picture on the Internet somewhere else first - flickr, photobox, picasa are all reliable, easy-to-use homes for your photos.

Once you've got your picture online then you need to get the URL (the address) of the picture.

To include the picture in your Forum Post just place the URL between two Img tags like this :-

[img]http://www.somewhere.com/mypic.jpg[/img]

IMPORTANT - PLEASE DON'T INCLUDE HUGE PICTURES!

If your picture is very large, then create a smaller version and include that OR include a link to the picture in your Forum Post. To link to the image, replace the Img code with a URL code like this :-

[URL]http://www.somewhere.com/mypic.jpg[/URL]

The best size for pictures is 640 pixels wide; please keep to that if at all possible, but no bigger than 800 wide.

Dave, I guess there are more than a few of us on the site, that are not techno-heads, and can usefully use the info.

Why not have this as a permanent link, on the LHS, near to the "Latest Ski Chat"
GUILTY!

So if your photo is on, say, snowboard.co.uk you need to find the picture, click on it or open it in a new window, copy the address (which must end '.jpg') and replace http://www.somewhere.com/mypic.jpg with your link and follow the instructions.

Amanda, if you look at my post, go to the top right and click where it says 'quote' and if you write under all of that it will look like this message too

- Join photobucket. (It's free)

- click on upload photo.

- Click on browse my computer (or you can paste a url into another box)

- Find the photo you want and double click on it.

- When the writing is in the box click upload.

- Give it a title when prompted.

- Click save and continue.

- When the photo appears, hovver over it and four rectangular boxes will appear underneath the photo.

- Click once on the 'img code' to highlight it then copy.

- Go back to the j2ski thread and paste.

If you follow these instructions once, you will see how easy it is and will not need them again.
