Just thought I would do a quick sum up on the Scott Reverse skiis that I used last week.
WOW WOW WOW I have never had a set of skiis that could rip like these did. Before going on holiday I contacted the hire shop through a third party and they said that they would keep some all mountain skiis back for me and they have kept the best for me. I was looking for a set of skiis that could carve a tight GS turn but have some capability off piste as well and these did exactly that and more. They are 128 - 87 - 118 at 176cm and apparently have a 15M turn radius but felt to turn a lot tighter than that. On Piste: Turned better than a lot of the race skiis I have had over the last few seasons. The fat centre seemed to help me get more edge angle at times I have never seen skiis so on edge. I was also teaching my kids for most of the week and they skiied backwards brilliant which is always helpful when keeping an eye on the smaller ones. Off Piste: Although I have been skiing for over 30 years now I am not what you would call a great off piste skiier. These skiis just floated in the deep stuff. We had over 40cms whilst in resort and by the end of the holiday I was searching for deeper snow to properly test them. Short turns were a breeze and even freeski style was easy on these. (I need to try some proper fattys to compare but felt great to me). Before going on this trip i said I wouldn't buy skiis again but I was sorely tempted to buy these ones off them. Hope this is helpful to someone and let me know if you try them. |
Cheers for the replies. I will check it out.

Does anyone have any recommendations on decent boot fitters in Les Deux Alpes.

Motorbikes, boats and thinking about next years ski trips for me :)

I shouldn't say but we went to superdevoluy for £1500 for the four of us self catering in half term. That didn't include the travel though but apparently cheap flights to Gap are readily available and that is only an hour away. |
His English is a hundred times better than my French. Definately going to ski together again. :) If anyone wants carving lessons he is the man to PM if he is not fighting fires in Nice of course. |
That was me :) Really wasn't expecting it to be that slippery :) |
Thanks for the kind comments everyone. I think the key to making it interesting is constantly changing the perspective the type of thing that you are doing etc. I know I get bored watching helmet cam footage if it is just from the helmet. The wife has already suggested some new perspectives for next year.
I use power director 8 it is very easy to use. for the proper effects e.g. duplicating the skieer I used Adobe After Effects which can do absolutely anything but is fairly difficult to use. Superdevoluy is awesome (don't tell everyone dont want to spoil the hidden gem)and super cheap. There are loads of ski touring opportunities and saw some great hike to ride areas just across the valley. It is quite low at 1500m start but seems to hold the snoow fairly well. |
