Thanks Colin. As usual extremely helpful. Now I have just got to find somewhere in Deux alpes that sells them and will give a decent fitting.

I suspect you are a beginner so you do not know what to "feel" in a boot!

If you call a beginner someone who has been skiing since they were 8 and done an instructors course a beginner (although not finished due to MCL injury) then yes I am :D

I haven't bought a pair of boots for 14 years and was wondering what a decent pair of boots for thin feet were. I am pretty sure that a pair of boots with a last of 100 definately are going to be too big width wise. I didn't overly want to go for a pair of race boots but if that is what is going to give a nice tight fit then that is what I will go for.

Thanks for the advice so far though very helpful.

Hi

I tried to get some ski boots fitted earlier this week and am having trouble finding boots for my thin feet.

I tried on a pair of Lange Banshees which I believe have a last of 98 but they were just a bit too wide (only very fractionally though) and I remeber somebody saying it is easy to make them bigger but making them smaller is a problem.

I was recomended the Saloman Falcon CS Pro's as these can be made to have a closer fit. Is there any other options for a performance fit for impossibly thin feet with out going to a race boot?

I used to have a pair of Raichle race boots with foam injected inners which were great at the time but have now broken down and don't fit very well.

Cheers

Tim

Ski Boot Buying in London?

I only had time to go to Ellis Brigham in the end. I had taken in a lot of what had been said on various threads on here so was fully armed with what I thought he should do.

After he had measured my feet he bought a pair of Lange Banshees out for me to try on. As soon as I put my foot in the shell without the liner I said these are too big and they were (2+ inches at back). He then got a pair of 25.5 out which fitted perfectly length ways (toes just touching front and heal touching back but the width was just a bit to big.

I have now come to the conclusion that I want a performance fit. Any movement side to side is going to wind me up and they will probably pack out a bit.

Bloody donkey's.

Great technique and explanation. I was wondering how you can acheive the up and down movement when carving and this makes perfect sense. I think I might get a lesson next time I am away as I think it is hard to know what you are doing wrong when you can't see yourself.

By the way you can ski dude. :D
