Thats excellent

Interesting to see from your shadow that you seemed to be holding the cam in your hand while filming: did you find that ok and did you use any other kind of bracket to hold?

Weather and conditions looked amazing, and those rugrats are great little skiers.

Out of interest, were you skiing on Scott's?

Sorry yes Scott Reverse. Awesome ski :)

He wants to go to summer race camp in tignes so already getting expensive :) no snow dome in jersey so v hard to get him time on skis. He is already complaining about not going back. No pushing needed on the lessons he wants them and wants to perfect technique. Absolutely over the moon with his progress and he is now pushing for tramp lessons so he can learn tricks before he goes next time. Thanks for all the comments he is stoked oh and me of course :)

Thanks so much everyone for the comments. The boys have been skiing for two weeks so extremely proud of their progress.

I bought the seat post mount and cut a wooden pole down to make a handle/impromptu tripod that I could stick in the snow, Cheap and worked out great I think.

I use use powerdirector 11 which is brilliant. It has a great feature for putting beat markers on the video to make editing in time to the music much easier. Check out jsycrf on YouTube for lots more videos I have made if you are interested. It is a passion of mine filming with the gopro and watch far to many vids to get ideas so hopefully will be better next year.

One good tip I can give from this year is pick the music you are going to edit to before you go and plan some silly shots around that. :) sillier the better.

Having done a lot of videos with go pros (jsycrf on YouTube) I thought I would give some hints.

- keep the segments short as makes it much easier to edit
- do lots of different angles, makes it much better to watch
- use your poles as a mount. Seat post mount works well but will need something to make pole thicker to fit.
- if something funny happens stop filming afterwards then you will be able to find clip later
- copy and remove footage every night. It is a pain if you run out of memory on the slopes.
- remember to wipe lens if it gets snow on it, nothing more frustrating than filming best run ever and not being able to see anything on film.
- be creative with angles and mounts, it is worth it :)
- buy Big hard drive you will need it I have over 500gb of footage in 3 years.

Hope this helps

Went to L2A a few weeks back and felt that if I was with a group of experienced lads it would be brilliant. Loads and loads of accessible offpiste which would have been awesome with experienced people. I was with my family and didn't feel that the runs flowed as other resorts I had been to. The top runs are great but it gets very cold and windy at the top. We are going to go to Alpe Duez next year as have been there before a long time ago and remember enjoying it.

Have said that park at L2A is amazing if you are into that. Kids enjoyed the beginner park as well.

I have attached a video of my lad carving a few weeks back in Les 2 Alpes. Feedback would be great on what he could think about for next year. This is is his 2nd week skiing and is really keen to improve.
