Housed in a historic Japanese building more than 80 years old, Rakucho Ryokan is a 15-minute walk from Kitaoji Subway Station, which is a 15-minute subway ride from JR Kyoto Station. Featuring a Japanese garden and antique furniture, it offers traditional Japanese lodging with free Wi-Fi in public areas.

Guest rooms feature a tatami (woven-straw) floor and traditional futon bedding. Air conditioning and heating facilities are fitted in all rooms, while an electric kettle and green tea bags are provided. Bathrooms and toilets are shared.

The Ryokan has a shared microwave. Coin-operated laundry machines are available as well. Guests can use the internet terminal in the common area for free.

Ryokan Rakucho is a 20-minute bus ride from the Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Shimogamo Shrine is located 2 km away. Kamogawa River can be reached within a 7-minute walk, and Kyoto Botanical Garden is a 15-minute walk from the property.
