Well for those who know me of old, i usually manage to go on several ski trips a year, and am normally on here day in day out during the ski season. However, as loads of others are finding, this recession has hit us hard....hubby being in property development , and me in advertising, not really best place to be!! So, we both are going to take voluntary redundancy and buggar off to the mountains for a while. The future can wait!! We want to stay in Europe ( family commitments in case we need to get home quick, or would go to Canada) so where is still " reasonably" priced for 2 strong intermediates???? Have looked at maybe going back to Alpe D`huez as only did as a beginner, but any suggestions gratefully received!!!This is so typical when snow conditions are best they`ve been for......er.......a long time!!!

Thnaks in advance, Jobs

Quote to girlfriend " I was caught skiing on an old pair of skis by the snow police, and have to serve community service working in a ski shop, or spend a season working as a chalet maid in Chamonix"

Suddenly the ski shop becomes a better option for your other half and all will be rosy!!

Oh and shiny, always comes with a clause...how big, and how expensive, so stay away from the light!!!

Great pics!!At last, some good news!!
what would you do?

This won`t be everyones cup of tea, and I`m sure there is an invasion of privacy somewhere, but when I broke my ankle in Megeve, my mates set me some " challenges" during the day, which mainly involved photographing poor unsuspecting skiiers with horrendous fashion faux pas, eavesdropping for the best apres ski " drink" realted tale etc etc..so at the end of day, I wasn`t just listening to their tales, we had a laugh over the challenges I had had to complete. Some are too outrageous to put on here, but it sure made the nursing of several vin chaud, a damn sight more entertaining....and I made loads of new friends in process!! It`s all in the mind as they say!!! Have Fun, whatever you do!!!

Well...what can I say....how AWESOME is Les Arcs ski area! Had a ball, did every run bar about 2, skiied for hours every day, and Arc 1950 was brilliant in the evening...Love this place!

Carona
We stayed in the main Radisson building, Manoir Savoie and it was brilliant. We had 1 bedroom classic apartment, and compared to French standards, it was huge!! Clean, new, efficient, friendly...can`t rave enough...going back in March!!

When I went last January, they were stickers attached to a wire that you wore on the outside of you jacket...They were the ones that folded back on themselves and were made of a waterproof plastic, so you have to put the wire through a zip or something to secure to your jacket. It may have changed tho as this seems to be an antiquated system these days! Didn`t snow show I`m afraid, so no advice there! Have Fun, Jo
