Most of the resorts are not mega-busy this season - unless you are skiing at Easter or Feb half term you'll probably have not trouble just turning up at a hotel and negociating a deal if there are just two of you - I wouldn't suggest that approach if you are a big party with children.
If you are going to Courmayeur there are ski busses from Geneva and Turin airports (Turin also serves Sauze D'Oulx & Bardonecchia where you have the option of bus or train as well as Cervinia - whose ski pass also covers Zermatt with the benefit of cheaper accomodation than on the Swiss side)

As others have said - the Swiss railways are as good as you get.

Sorry people im a crap typer.

We are leaving mid march to ski from
Paris-courmayeur-st mortiz-Geneva all is booked just have to work out how to get around?
All the wholesales for the travel agents here have 7 days min booking.
There are two ways of booking Value Tours or Skimax.
Or yes like other people just said I could book on line. I just have a problem doing that as I don't speak the lingo and also working out the exchange rate and paying VIA credit card. I'm worried I could be looking at a disaster right there!!

Littleski,
I am curious. Is there no ski-ing anywhere near Perth in Western Australia? I know there is ski-ing near Sydney, Canberra, and Victoria, but that's the other side of Australia. Is there nowhere nearer?

:DHi,

I am afraid to say the agent you booked your holiday through is a useless, incompetent, lying moron...... was that a bit harsh?....well there you go.

If you go anywhere in the world if your paying ....you can stay as long or as short as you like ,many places that are run for profit do plan their accommadation from weekend to weekend in line with the flight scheduling, but many if not most privately run places when contacted direct will accommadate any dates you wish.

All the people I know who have property in the French Alps (myself included) offer anywhere from a 1 night stay to the whole year if you wished or desired to do so, i think your agent probably told you that so he/she/they didn't have the hassle of searching for places to stay or go which were out of the normal week to week variety.....when you see them again give em' a roasting

To sort anything out such as a multi stay holiday thats a bit out of the norm in another far away part of the world may seem daunting, but with a little time spent on the internet and the phone isn't that bad at all in my experience.

I certainly hope this has not put you off skiing/boarding in the Alps in the future ,as it's a wonderfull place to be at anytime of the year :D :D

Many Regards

Right. Enough.

Tell me where you want to be and when, preferred method of travel and type/class of accomodation.

I will provide you with an itinary, list of contact names, numbers and english internet sites.

I will do this for 5% of the total amount of the holiday, which will be substantially cheaper than your travel agent. Hell, I'll come with you and show you around if you like.

I travel throughout Europe extensively for work and pleasure, I do it all my self using t'interweb and have had some amazing experiences In Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France and Italy snowboarding. Currently online working out 4 days riding in Finland. I managed to get to Portillo in Chile in summer for 8 days sliding without once talking to an agent.

BTW, I routinely go to Zermatt for 2 or 3 days and have never had trouble with accomodation!! Check out my blog for a few ideas.
