But we know that we are all very nice people and not at all interbred

Perhaps I should do a quick edit before the racist squad spot it

I know that Niederau is small and all that, but the prices for a week in Jan. are looking very competitive. £300 for flights, transfers and a hotel!

Unfortunately, I can't take advantage of any special offers from Bristol to the Niederau/Ski Welt area, because they all fly in and out of Innsbruck. Last year we flew out of Innsbruck and the turbulence had quite a few, including Mrs Saffer, in tears.(Obviously I was fine....)

We found out afterwards that pilots who fly in and out of Innsbruck need to re-qualify for that airport every six months. This is apparently because of the mountain ranges all around. Now Mrs Saffer insists we fly in and out of Salzburg or Munich.

Let me get this right....your Mrs won't fly into a certain airport because you had turbulence on a flight out?

I've had turbulence at Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted, Luton, Glasgow, Aberdeen and East Midlands. I've also experienced it at other airports across Europe, and strangely enough up in the sky as well. That should not be a reason not to fly to a specific airport as it can happen anywhere.

FYI Innsbruck Airport does require certain certification, and only certain types of aircraft are permitted to fly into it. I've flown in and out of Innsbruck probably a dozen times, and once coming in it was bumpy, and once going out we flew into a snowstorm which was not at all pleasant. And once it was too foggy to land so we flew back from Munich.

With the greatest respect, please do not limit yourself to certain flights because of a bit of turbulence. It can happen anywhere when you fly.

Tony, at the risk of get all kinds of wrath down on my head, we are talking about a womans logic!!!! I have experienced absolute bone wrenching turbulence over the Sahara, and also flying into a small coastal city called East London in South Africa(where a airliner crashed at sea because of the turbulence), but when Mrs Saffer says "NO INNSBRUCK!" then hey, a small sacrifice to keep the peace, or else it will be a large sacrifice, and I will be it!
