I truly am a pleaser of all hats-I own a helmet (which m lookin to replace with a nice poc one soon), a nice soft grey and white bobble hat and I have a colmar beanie-it is not baggy though and is super snug and warm!

Hi all, just to apologise for setting this one off and I promise no more helmet stories (unless something truly new and newsworthy...) - it was just coincidence it came in after the last one. There have in fact been quite a few new stories of people dying from head injuries when not wearing helmets which I haven't posted recently, although i recall last year there were also quite a few when people who were wearing helmets also died from head injuries. Right just going to post a nice story about snow in North America, with only a few deaths involved, and they would have been wearing helmets, thoughh that's not much help in an avalanche, usually.

Problem with such stories is,

"what is God saying when a skier with ski helmet dies" ! Several skiers have died with helmets on, in fact there is now a famous video of one such death on You Tube !

Yes,,it is up to each person to decide!

Oh,,,,by the way more people die in Spas than while skiing !
What is God telling us now !!!!

Unfortunately, the common sense gene that we should all have, just isn't that common. You've only got to see the amount of people who still insist on using mobile phones while driving to realise that perhaps a laboratory grown gene should be surgically implanted somewhere that can't be mentioned here, to those who lack common sense.

People should be sensible enough to assess the risk, and have the freedom to make their own choices, and be prepared to accept any consequences. Sure someone will provide correction if I'm wrong, but I don't believe it's law for adults to wear helmets (in Europe) yet.
A day without Ski's on is a day wasted.

Nah I've not got in trouble with the big boss since the great '10 Ways Skiing And Romance Are The Same' disaster of the distant past. Not that he's told me anyway. I did think it was a bit lacklustre on my part running two helmet stories in a row though as i was posting it and then when I logged back in tonight and saw 7 pages of comments I thought "oops". But I'll take my apology back if you like? Oh dear now I'm sounding like the Paul Whitehouse indecisive bloke in the bar in the Fast Show.

Well, if you were responsible for that thread you owe me an apology, as well as Admin. I've only managed to remember 100 of the 200 jokes and I wanted a record of them all because I thought some of them were really funny. And I tried really hard not to make mine too 'adult'. Admin wiped the whole thread before I could get a copy of it :cry:
