This snow has fallen quickly, and more is due to come. It won't have had time to settle, let alone bind together.

Powder Fever will be easy to catch, but how many folks will stop and assess the slope they want to ski?

That can only be good news surely. I just hope they manage to open a little more than last year. Grand montets was only open up to the bochard but mot including. The bochard would have made so much difference. Lets just hope hey....

Wonder how things are looking lower down at les houches ??

Looking insane. About 18inches of snow on the ground at 1000m. Loads higher up.

Roll on Saturday

Fantastic. Any signs of them preparing the runs ???

Looks like it on the webcam. I'll have a look today.

Les Houches and Grand Montets open from Saturday until the end of the season. Seems like they will be open all week next week, not just the weekend.

YAY

Awesome and it is listed that the bochard gondola will be opening also whicb i great as last year early season was very limited to a few runs up the grand montet. Lets hope les houches is also ready to go. Think i can officially stop worrying :-)

I wrote a nice long reply and then my internet died, so this will have to suffice:
Les Houches looks amazing - loads of activity this evening.

Hahaha thanks seb. Cant thank you enough for the updates. I never thought it was possible but it seems the conditions will be better than last years opening. Atleast this year the ground has been pretty cold for a while now. Last year it was so warm up to and just after the first dump..........

Hopefully this year things are a little more stable. Last year i remember le tour being evacuated in areas.

Tony, heavy snow and weather conditions, plus impatient folks with no knowledge or training in recognising the danger. I'm not much of a Prophet.

As for grand montet only 4 runs open and no bochard . Lets hope more opens soon as it wouldnt take long to do those thst were open
