Wandered round the lower slopes of Les Houches juct now, going to need much more snow. Hopefully enough will fall next week.

Will go up to Bellevue tomorrow morning to get a decent idea of whats going on, the webcams are just about useless.

So in your thoughts with what is forecast will there be enough to open les houches in two weeks ?? A report from higher up would be great. My previous picture showing the bochard runs are starting look good and the snow cannons were on which surely is a good sign ??

Thanks matt

I'm pretty sure there will be enough to open in 2 weeks, maybe even one (but that's probably just wishful thinking).
It is only going to open for the weekend on the 15th and 16th, then open properly the weekend after.

Hopefully tomorrow I will have a better idea of how it's looking.

Chamonix doesn't seem to have got as much snow as some other places did last week.

Chamonix Meteo is forecasting 30-50cm at 1500m on Tuesday; if that arrives conditions should be OK. If not you might have some explaining to do. In any case the Grand Montets will only be partially open and Les Houches will only be open at the weekend.

How flexible are you? The Monterosa ski area opened today and until the 25th of Dec you can ski for free http://www.lovevda.it/turismo/pacchetti_vacanza/sci_alpino_e.asp?tipo=scheda&pk=5875&nomesch=sch_paginagialla&ts=paginagialla

Loads of snow today in Chamonix.
A good start to what will hopefully be a week full of the white stuff.
It is possible that the Les Houches lifts will open early - by the end of the week there will be enough snow, not sure about the demand though.
Didn't make it up to Bellevue yesterday, something came up. Tomorrow is a possibility though.

Grand Montets and "possibly others" lifts expected to open on the 8th due to recent snowfall.

Announcement expected soon.
