annoying parents !

You sound just like the annoying parent at the dry slope last night who kept on and on at his kid for falling over...
The instructor told the annoying parent that the kid was learning new stuff and it was to be expected.
long story short and quick as it's not about skiing...
dad ran successful business
brother joined dad
dad retired
brother carried on with successful business
brother now flogging dead horse
dad carrying said dead horse
and my brother thinks he's hard done by
Tony...are you, by any chance, doing a part time/evening course in Psychology?

Ally, with the greatest respect, you have been skiing many times now, why are you still falling over so much in lessons?

Tony,
To be quite truthful, I don't think I fell over any more than most of the others in my group. Perhaps it is just because I ski in quite demanding lessons?
I wasn't really counting, but I'm pretty sure one person in my morning group fell over 3 times in one morning. And another morning I fell over first, because I couldn't see properly in the fog and the poor light and I didn't see a bump and I went over backwards, and then my daughter actually fell over
My daughter hardly ever falls over. She is a really stable skier. But she says that in one of her afternoon off piste lessons she fell over 3 times. She was, however, ski-ing in pretty difficult places - real off piste on moguls, not just down the side of the piste.
I suppose I should have kept a falling over tally for you - but I'm afraid I was having too much fun to keep count of all my falls :D

Not at all Dids. I was merely asking why someone so experienced as Ally seems to regularly report falling over on her trips. I do appreciate that you fall when pushing yourslef to new limits, and I had a couple of bail outs when skiing off piste, because thats a new discipline for me generally.
I am just surprised that someone who has skied so much mentions that she falls over that much, and is of the opinion judging by her posts that people who dont fall over are strong skiers, suggesting she thinks she isnt.
But then you read her report and she is learning moguls, powder, etc, so she cant be a bad skier at all to tackle those.
Is there maybe an issue of self confidence Ally?????

Hmmmm. I am guessing, but you blame your brother for the business not working? Or was it the recession?betty wrote:Tony_H wrote:How, and have you thought about stopping him?betty wrote:my brother's spending my future inheritance
