My partner & I travelled back to Manchester from Kaprun on the 17th January we had 2 sets of skis & poles in one double bag, when we arrived in Manchester we were told by Flybe staff that our skis had come on a different aircraft and that they were in another terminal waiting to be sent across to terminal 3. After some time the spokesman said that there was nobody to bring everones skis and boards over so we would have to fill out some customs forms declaring what was in our bags and they would send them on by taxi the following day (Sunday).
Nothing arrived on that day so we contacted Flybe who said they were on their way and would be with us Monday morning, when the courier arrived with them I opened the empty looking bag to find my partners Elan skis inside but my Solomon Tornados & 2 sets of poles were missing, the courier whitnessed this & signed the paperwork to say that there was only one set of skis in the bag.
We have sent all the boarding cards baggage claim etc and they say give them 21 days they also will only pay for skis with an invoice otherwise they will pay half of the replacement cost (WELL YOU GUESSED IT I CANT FIND THE RECIPT FOR THE SOLOMONS).
I am also due to go skiing on the 22nd of Feb so dont know what will happen.
Has enyone had any experience of what will happen next plsssssssssss?

Bloody hell Rob, thats a shocking scenario. I'd be absolutely gutted myself.
I dont have receipts for either pairs of skis, and its out of order for the airline to ask for them bearing in mind its all totally their fault and considering the inconvenience they have caused you, and will cause you in terms of getting new gear etc.

I dont know what the answer is, apart from getting on the phone and speaking to someone high up at the airline. Its bad enough being buggered about and having to wait for your stuff, but then to find stuff has been STOLEN (as thats what it is) is disgusting. I take for granted that my luggage and skis will always turn up as they should be.
After reading you tale, I am going to invest in a couple of padlocks!

Sorry to hear about this. Let us know what gets sorted.

Dale, go back to the shop you brought your skis from, and obtain a duplicate. 8)

Make sure you get the duplicate receipt of the highest price Salomon skis you can find. Any ski shop worth their salt will do this for you, a good bottle of whiskey will help the process run smoothly.
