Hi
Anyone ever skiied in Ehrwald
Group of 8 of us from work are going to Austria for the long easter weekend. Flights to Innsbruck already booked ,now just need to find a resort and accommodation!!
All the usual suspects within an hour of the airport seem to be full to the brim ( Ischgl,St Anton,Solden)but we have had an offer of rooms in Ehrwald.
Unfortunately we can't find anyone who's ever heard of it let alone been there and a google search is not much use either
Can anyone on here offer some light?...what's the skiing like?...is the nightlife any good?
Any help is much appreciated
Ehrwald

Hi have not skiied there but the village of
Lermoos is a couple of minutes away by car or
train which is free with your geust card, and doubles your ski options, lively apres ski in bar Juchof and a few others there.

robandliza, where :?: However you are in the right place as it seems that this website at least has heard of it http://www.j2ski.com/snow_forecast/Austria/Ehrwald_snow.html
and from here you can see that the conditions look quite favourable http://www.j2ski.com/ski_resorts/Austria/Ehrwald_webcams.html and finally I'd try this one, just clik on Welcome for the english version http://www.ehrwald.com/

I would have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids!

Thank you all
I have been to all those sites( A LOT!!!) but I remember reading on one site that there was no ski link into the other resorts in the area. I was hoping someone could confirm/deny that
As it is I've just had an email to say we have got rooms in Hotel Sunny in Solden so it looks like we're going to give that a crack
Solden/Ehrwald anyone?
I'm off now to do a search on Solden on this forum
Thanks again

I skied Ehrwald and Lermoos last week. Had a great time. We've had a relatively light winter so not as much snow as normal but there is still plenty and there are snow machines all over Ehrwald.
Ehrwald and Lermoos are across the valley from each other (less than 5 miles apart). I consider myself a little better than an intermediate skier. Ehrwald has lots of great runs for an intermediate skier and is also great for a "less than intermediate" skier. If you are looking for really challenging slopes you probably won't be too happy with Ehrwald. Lermoos is a little more challenging but once again, nothing too extreme. Anyway, my son (he's at about the same level of skiing as I am) and I had a great time at both places.
I believe you can buy the "Happy Valley" pass and ski Ehrwald and Lermoos as well as Zuhgspitz and Garmisch in Germany (all within 30 minutes of each other and I believe the train goes between). Garmisch has some great skiing but it seems like there are less people in the Austrian resorts.
Hope this helps!
