Hi all,
Which place could be the best option for snowboarding in the beginning of October? I'm most interested in parks but long slopes would be nice too. Is there anything close to Zurich, Milan, Munchen or Geneva? I really appreciate if someone could help me :)

Depends what is "close" for you. Zermatt will be open but you are looking at 3-4 hours journey from the airport. Season doesn't start till December but some places with glaciers must be open if you are prepared to travel but their terrain parks availability will depend on the said parks altitude.

If you could go late October, you'd have more choice. I know that LDA opens for the last week in October (Tousaints holiday or whatever it's called).

Engelberg should fit your requirements - It opens on October 3, and it's only about 2 hours from Zurich airport. I am not familiar with Austrian resorts, but in this part I doubt you can find skiing any closer than that to the airport at this time of the year.
