Just got my BBR's! Is a LONGER ski harder to ski on?

I just picked up my Salomon BBR's 8.9 today!!!
Now in exactly two weeks I will be trying them out..... I cannot wait.
Anybody else try them yet.
The thing that I fear is that they are the LONGEST ski's I will have ever ski'd on.
Will I struggle on 1.86's ? seeing as I have normally ski'd on a 1.65 until now (and play around on 1.3's when I get bored)!!
Some facts: I am personally 1.90 CM tall! I have started to do Blacks (in terms of ski ability), and will be venturing into some Powder for the first time!)
Any opinions?

These skis can not be classified in any "traditional" grouping! Very fast turning skis! Easy to ski on soft soft surface! Do not lean back on that narrow tail!!!
On first runs go to easy easy slopes since these skis have unique "performance" parameters!
Enjoy length. To answer your question they will be easier to ski,,after you have taken the time to learn about what they can do!

You must have been there in the SHOP with me ;-) - thats EXACTLY what the sales guy said. He could not contain his excitement. He LOVED the ski's - and it was not just sales talk - he really did!
I am even more excited now.... I cannot wait to go play!!!!

Apparently they are supposed to be able to ski powder because of the huge shovel but Im not convinced because they are still narrow under foot but id love to give them a try!
You. Will. Love. Them

I am basing my choice of shop this year on who is renting the BBR.
Desperate to try this thing out.
I saw a couple of pairs in Tignes in April last and they do look different!
And gorgeous.
Darryl - I hate you

I thought Serge Dupraz had probably had some design input, but this doesn't seem to be the case, as on Friday Serge launched the Dupraz D2 all-mountain skis.

They have an asymmetric side cut (one side for piste, the other for powder), a wider tail than the BBRs, and like the BBRs come in two sizes, 171cm (160/105/140) and 181cm (170/115/150) might be worth testing if you get the chance http://www.dupraz-skis.com/index.php?lang=gb
