I don't think its being marketed as a powder ski though is it? If i still lived in a resort like you guys i would prob still have my 186gs, 165slalom and 191powder skis as i don't think any ski out there truly does it all as good as anything for that specific purpose!

Latest up date on BBRs !

Just finished another day on these and found their great "potential" !

Do you know "crummy" snow conditions ?

Let me help you,,,,

Picture this;
+15 cm. of powder and after 2 hours of skier traffic you get soft moguls here and there. You get sections of powder,,,then hard snow,,then soft moguls etc,,,

All day it snowed and by 2 PM..slope was not powder but, "crummy" !

These skis were like an icebreaker plowing through all the snow types ! Those wide tips acted like a "missile" going through snow ! Set an edge, go into a carve and enjoy the "auto-pilot" mode !
They do not waver out of the curve. Nothing makes them deviate from perfect carve arc !

But you are warned,,hesitate or "flat ski" them and you are in the woods !

You must set the edges with "authority", with power !
Medium and high speeds will do !

A charm in crummy conditions ! While others complained of "hard skiing conditions" I was floating on top of the "mounts" of soft snow !

If Snow conditions are soft/Fresh/Crud/Sugar or if i'm on stuff that feels like i'm skiing over a field of broken bricks then my 177cm Salomon X Wing Fury's (All Mountain) skis cope quite well.

That is if i'm not on a 'CODA Board' (which is my first choice snow sliding toy)

Back to that question,,,"is a longer ski hardest to ski on " !

The key word is "hardest" !

Hardest to what,,,,,?

Let me provide some insight.

Just had a 5'5" male 60 years old who has skied 3 years try the BBRs! They are 177 cm. long. He skis typically skis 155 cm. SL type skis. He skis them with great carving technique since he did not learn bad habits from older type skis!

One run down an easy slope with some basic "tips" was all he got as intro lessons to the BBrs.

After 3 hours I could not get skis back from him ( I had 15 other skiers waiting) !
He was carving them like no other ski!
His speed picked up TWO notches.
His smile was evident from the chairlifts!

To answer your question,,,,well it depends not on the ski but the skier! If you did your homework, worked on your basics, then a longer ski will make you a better skier!

Next time you ask the question,,look at great women skiers! Do they have ski tips to chin or closer to forehead ( or above ) !

It is all up to you,,,,,,

No offence but your story isn't really necessary and you contradict yourself during it and your answer!

The simple straight forward and obvious answer is yes, longer skis are harder to ski.

You clarify this by saying that he needed tips and help to be able to use them compared to his normal shorter skis.

I fully agree that longer skis are faster but not necessarily more fun. However i don't agree that longer makes you better? Gs skis are typically 191 and downhill 215ish but gs is still considered the most technical discipline

To address a small point: it's not completely straightforward. The modern designs with 'early rise' at the tip or tail will make a ski more maneuverable than its length suggests.

but what im saying is the same model of ski with the same design (early rise rocker etc) would still be easier to ski
