Lets hope it hit chamonix as it really is where we wanted to go and have accomodation lined up so fingers crossed we dont have to change. I know early season is a big risk but i will be happy with any reason to slip my boots on. So come on dump and open just a few runs on the grand montets......... might opt for tignes next year. Dont remember why we opted for chamonix over tignes last year. Think it was down to finding it harder to find cheapish accom for 4 nights. Although this year i have found lots. Oh well live and learn and thanks people for the info on transfers.... cham is only around 1 hour if i remember so would prefer that to the 3 of tignes....

Well it seems a change of plans may be on the cards. looking at the forecast there is some snow showing 5-6 days out however as we know this is often not the case and anything past 3 days is just guess work. so with that in mind we are thinking of changing to ignes and ski the grand motte glacier. already open and looks awesome. found some decent digs at a lost cost (all we need is a bed ) however as our flights get us in to geneva i was unsure about the transfers ????? anyone care to enlighten ? also we are not rushing into anything. we fly on the 14th and have decided if theres still no signs by this time on the 7th were going to change locations.

Verbier is open, transfers door to door by SBB, every day.

The difficultly in finding accommodation is probably a very good guide as to the skiing that's likely to be available. It's no surprise that plenty of people are heading to Tignes/Val D'I'sere as the early December snow record is so good.

There's plenty of snow in Chamonix right now, even at 1000m - scheduled to continue all day tomorrow as well. Should be a hefty amount on the ground by the weekend.
It's going to be a slow next few weeks, waiting for the lifts to open.
