Group of us going to Chamonix for 3 days mixed levels. We are staying near the Brevent main lift. What are best option for lift passes and areas to go to, as we have beginners and I'm aware of Chams reputation!

If it were me I would treat them as you would the majority of 5 year olds.......
1- do not give them their tickets, they will get lost/forgotten
2- do not let them wander off at the airport, they will get lost/forgotten
3- check they have been to the toilet before boarding the transfer coach, and check they get on the bus or they will get lost/forgotten
4- write their name, accomodation address and contact number on a card and pin this inside their ski jacket pocket so they can get back when they get lost/forgotten
5- tie their lift pass securely to their clothing or it will get lost/forgotten
6- similarly with gloves - string through sleaves so they don't get lost/forgotten
7- when they get lost/forgotten breath a sigh of relief and enjoy yourself - after all they are not 5yo and can be left alone to look after themselves in hospital or the police station

Hmmm if you have real beginners then a day in Les Houches might be an idea - 10 minutes down the road from the centre of Cham, tree level, lots of easy blues and wide reds and the best mountain restaurant for lunch!

Don't worry about beginners, I was a beginner once upon a time in Chamonix and loved it!
Les Houches is a great suggestion with some very pretty skiing in the trees and so good for snowy days/poor light. If you get a blue ski day head up to Le Tour, some lovely high altitude skiing and a mix of green/blue/red with a nice run down to Vallorcine where I think you can get the train back into Cham.
Also some good nursery slopes at the bottom of Brevant so the first day should be easy!
If you're only there for 3 days I would buy seperate passes as Les Houches is not on the "Le Pass" area and it would be nice to have the flexibility to go where you fancy each day.
For the experienced guys you could buy a 3 day "Chamonix Unlimited" pass which gets you everywhere although how about a trip down the Vallee Blanche for the more experienced one day?

Le Tour or Les Houches would be good, but it will involve commuting.

Anywhere (with the exception maybe of Brevant and Flegere) will involve a bit of travel but that's a given in Chamonix and is more than made up for by the amount and variety of skiing on offer! The bus system is very good (if a bit crowded at times) and as I said above I think the train comes into play if you are up in Le Tour/La Balme area!
When are you going?
