Does anybody have an idea what they are laying out on the floor in Tignes? I would guess its protection for the grass but not sure, is this a sign that they are expecting heavy snowfall? Fingers crossed.

Possible Snow in Tignes
Login
I was there for Easter last year (last week in April).
Quite a bit "officially" open but mainly spent my time up towards the glacier.
That nursery "green" run was needed at the end of every day to save having to walk uphill.
It was an absolute nightmare by the afternoon - knee deep slush!!
Much harder than any red!
I felt so sorry for beginners trying to get down it.

don't want curse it but they did it last year a few days before it snowed. have a look at the historical webcams around the middle of November last year.

Not sure yet. I had my first visit last Feb and the area is a gold mine for off piste but due to conditions I would have been better rock climbing rather then snowboarding. I'm leaving booking late this season to try and 'follow the snow' as they say.
The historical cam is ridiculous, one day its complete green and sun, the next day it looks like they had about 3ft of snow.

Its frustrating that we had conditions like that then out west they have bucket loads of fresh. I'm really tempted to pay that bit extra and go to Canada this season. I'm still waiting to book but if the season is like last year I'm going over the pond. It's a lot of money to spend on 'slush'
