What would you do?

Bad luck for your fiance MFC - I will be taking lots of books, DVD's, one of the apartments we are renting has Sky TV and my laptop - just in case my foot does not heal or is too bloody painful. It is frustrating being injured - I have had a few similar convo's with Mr PSC these last two weeks. My view is that I would rather be bored on holiday in the beautiful French Alps than sat at home. I also intend to make my way either by foot or ski to the Roc de Trois Marches cable up to Chalet des Neiges to have lunch with my party! Hopefully it will be sunny again by then.

Where did you stay? Have you booked your Sailing holiday/honeymoon yet?

Some stunning photos from the last two days LesMen and the snow looks great now - counting down to my return on the 13th Feb :D
Good news - after visiting the Fracture clinic yesterday I have now been given a boot which I can walk in which means I am much more mobile than on the crutches. He wiggled my foot around a lot and there was very little pain so he thinks it is healing well. I knew it was a good idea to borrow Wayne's oxygen tent!

I asked the ortho guy about skiing in Feb and he seems to think it will be ok - for the reasons stated by Wickers & Far Queue that the ski boot will support it - he will let me know for certain in two weeks time when I go back and hopefully will be boot free :D

Thanks for the tip about the Gluwein Dave Mac - I will be sure to take that one up!

A very bored PSC

It looks superb out there today on the webcams - hope you are all enjoying your blue sky and powder in ADH

Hope it is making up somewhat for your horrible journeys and lost luggage debacles.

The weather looks to be improving too for your return - the snow is melting here :D

You poor things - it must be bad out there to cancel your flight so the transfer would not have been too good either. You have already lost a day so you have probably done the right thing if you are able to take the holiday another time. You could always get down to Weardale tomorrow!!
Our friends saw something similar happen in St Martin last year, the girl in questions skis had come off so whether they had got caught I don't know, a large crowd formed underneath the ski lift as it was 30 - 40 metres above the slope and encouraged the people holding her to drop her (the lift had been stopped) which they did and she was caught without injury at all :D

He got it all on video but I don't think he has put it out there yet - perhaps he has sent it to YBF.
Went over on my ankle in the first half hour of 2010 :( Thought I had just sprained it but the x ray revealed otherwise. Have got another ski(?) holiday booked on Feb 13th - what do you think my chances are? Could not get to the Fracture clinic yesterday due to the snow so not been able to ask the orthopeadic surgeon - I know Dave Mac's wife had a similar experience last year but I can't find the thread.

Thought I was being sensible wearing boots with a wedge heel in the ice (have done so on holiday before) but now wish I had worn flatties with crampons!!

Fed up with being on crutches and everything taking so long to do but then I think about the people for whom this is a permanent state like a boy I teach who lost his leg to cancer.

Take care out there fellow Jet 2 Skiers )
Prove me wrong?

Can I throw in St Martin de Belleville in which I am sitting right now :D Traditional village with access to the pistes of 3V. Not too expensive in the restaurants. We tend to eat at Chalet des Neiges slopeside to Les Allemands in Les Menuires (after skiing to Courchevel or VT in the morning)and have not paid more than 17 Euros each for lunch and drinks. Self catering apartment at night with Sky!! We stay in, eat some nice Raclette from the local deli, have some wine and watch telly!! Many of the French here do the same. There are some other Brits but not like in Meribel.
