Have you booked with Inghams? We normally get two pairs in one bag so I only booked 3 ski bags. When I got details through there is a weight limit of 10 kgs per ski bag  We will be removing bindings and putting them in our hand luggage I think...

The next three weeks can't go quickly enough 8)

We went last New Year without the kids and stayed in Plagne 1800 - Le Mine Bar is legendary for apres ski and wild nights. The Italian Restaurant at the top of 1800 was lively too. As other posters have said Plagne Centre is not really up to much - hard to have too much fun in a shopping centre :?:

We went home New Years Eve but having been in other French ski resorts do book early if you want to eat and expect to pay quite a lot.

The skiing was great. Last time we had stopped in Les Coches and spent quite a lot of time over on the Les Arcs side but to be honest not having that option last year we explored La Plagne and really enjoyed it.

Have a great time - not long to wait

If you are dripping money you really should be in Courchevel 1850. Non- skiers can put on ski clothes, full make up and jewelry, get the ESF guys to carry their skis that they don't actually use and join their Partners for lunch in restaurants that sell Diamonds too.

Hi all sounds like N will be fun - Myself and Family are staying in the Hotel Vicky not the Harfenwirt. I know it is closed (apparently it is being turned into 16 beautiful apartments) but they have opened it that week due to demand. Bar and Restaurant will be closed so we have our Breakfast and Evening Meals in the Gasthaus Schneeberger. We got a good rate and are flying from Manchester not Bournemouth which is better. I just hope they put the heating on for a few days before we get there!!! See you all on the 27th. There will be myself and Mr P, teenage daughter, teenage son and permanently attached GF.

The Three Valleys offers so many fantastic Pistes its hard to know where to start...

Jerusalem - great fun and one of my favourite runs in the 3V - like a roller coaster - at the end of the day I try and get as many as poss in before skiing down to St Martin where we stay.

Mont Vallon - both runs long and enjoyable and I love the tree lined Ours cruise to Mottaret at the end.

Ski over to Cour 1650 via Creux and up Chanrossa and have a fantastic Pizza in the orange restuarant (can't remember the name Hotel du Golf?)

Do go to Orelle via VT and down the red - it is steep in places but a good long run.

I'm not too keen on the Meribel runs from Cour as they seem to be either slushy or icy.

Another vote for Grand Lac from Roc de Fer down to St Martin

Val Thorens - Peclet Funitel - every run down is fun

Mottaret is probably the most central place to stop in the 3V in terms of skiing. Having only lunched there cannot comment about the nightlife but with all the skiing you will probably be too knackered anyway. Enjoy the 3V - I always do.

In our school out of 60 teachers over a third ski - so that's quite a lot.

We don't all try and blag free school trips - our PE Dept run them and usually accompany the kids. Although saying that as my kids are now grown up I may be going on the next one... And yes I agree that it is a fantastic trip for them and for some the only opportunity they may get when young to try it.

And I did blag some £7.00 session tickets for Chill Factor on a 6th form trip on Wednesday.

If I wasn't a teacher I would take my kids out at term time too but schools are becoming a lot stricter - we have turned down some holiday requests but usually have to concede as the holiday has been booked already.

The Easter weekend will still be movable but like last year depending on when it falls the school holidays may or may not include the Easter weekend.

Last year we got the Easter weekend off, back in school for two weeks then a two week holiday which I thought was great until I realised that our summer term had been extended by two days and we got 5 and a bit weeks instead of 6!!! (Can't wait to read all the insults after that comment!)

Next year our Easter holidays have the Easter Weekend in them. In 2010 we break up on the Thursday just before the Easter Bank Holiday on the 5th April.

I don't know what will happen in 2011 - YET!!
