I went to la Plagne over New Year in 2006/2007.

Now to be honest, the crowd I was with were not really into the wild nights, but the resort is not what we would call banging. Lots of little villages spread out and the main meeting place is Plagne Centre. It is very expensive 7EUR for a 400ml beer 2 years ago, 7 EUR for a box of fags if thats your thing, 7 EUR to hang your jacket up in one place!!!!

The area is huge and skiing varied, unfortunately for me I found the nightlife not to be the same

One tip......book a table for New Years Eve, we didn't and didn't get fed until after Midnight.

Depends which part of La Plagne you're going to.

None of the villages would be described as 'buzzing', but you're definitely going to get more apres ski in Plagne centre , than Plagne Soleil or Aime La Plagne for example.

Belle Plagne has 3-4 bars (Guiness £5/pint!!), plus disco and several restaurants. From Belle Plagne you can catch the gondala to Bellecotte where there are more bars and restaurants. The Gondala runs until midnight, and is free.

My sister just finished a season there in which time i spent a month there(over a few month) the night life is dead. New years eve there was juest 55 people in the loon bar. Music good, say youre a seasonaire and get a free pint and then any other for 2 euros.

We went last New Year without the kids and stayed in Plagne 1800 - Le Mine Bar is legendary for apres ski and wild nights. The Italian Restaurant at the top of 1800 was lively too. As other posters have said Plagne Centre is not really up to much - hard to have too much fun in a shopping centre :?:

We went home New Years Eve but having been in other French ski resorts do book early if you want to eat and expect to pay quite a lot.

The skiing was great. Last time we had stopped in Les Coches and spent quite a lot of time over on the Les Arcs side but to be honest not having that option last year we explored La Plagne and really enjoyed it.

Have a great time - not long to wait

Saloon bar in Belle Plagne eminates awful noise - but was certainly lively. I think it's open till 4 - make sure you've had a few before you venture in though!
Bon. Allez!

That's the place that charges 7 EURO for everything!!!

Unless it costs more than 7 EURO that is.
