J2Ski Forum Posts and Replies by Trencher

I think that it has lost the forum feel, and looks more like a string of text messages. This works well on my htc phone, but on a larger screen, it's hard on my eyes. I think that's because it's harder to scan a thread, as my eyes tend lock onto each post before moving on.

Overall though, the pages look cleaner

and thanks Dave for valuing my opinion.

No change to the mobile site, but the main forum should now be usable on your smartphone... what have you got? Can you have a look?

Great on a smart phone,or Ifad, FAIL on a desktop.

I have already given up on a forum I used to like, because they went to a smart phone friendly format that just sucks to use on a big screen.
snow and grass

What really surprised me about grass under snow, is that there fungi that thrive during the winter by living on the dormant grass. Every year our hay fever season starts as soon as the snow melts off the grass, and the spores are released.

There is a certain place with three ski areas, but you already know that I'm sure.
The "ice-stache"

I find rinsing my beard in car anti-freeze is quite effective at preventing ice build up. Otherwise a small spray bottle of winter windshield/windscreen wash can be very handy for long runs.
Compact Cameras

It's hard to find a compact camera these days that still has a view finder. Lcd screens are so hard to see in bright sun. Worse for me is that you are forced to hold the camera away from your head to view the screen. Much of the stability needed for zoomed in photos/video comes from holding the camera against your brow, and shortening the arms. This is only possible with a view finder.

Canon Power shot A series cameras still have a viewfinder and take reasonable photos, though not the best. Pretty cheap though, so not a disaster if it breaks.

Trencher - I use boot dryers to dry them out at night. Could this cause the problem~?

There good boot dryers, and there are bad ones. I use a boot dryer, but it has almost no heat; just a gently flow of air.

I have known people who have ruined their footbeds with boot dryers.

Take the foot beds out and just stand on them- do they feel right?
