Do any of the car hire companies throw in snow tyres/chains FOC

Every hire companie provide a winter pack. Make sure you ask them when you rent your car.
They should give you some chains aswell if you ask if not you can buy some if you expect rent a car every year. And yes, every hire companie charge for extra driver, but I think it's around 25 euros for the week. Drive carefully and enjoy the fresh snow ! |

It's here !!! All over the Alps.
It's just so beautifull. I can't go on the slopes before friday, and i know it's gonna be amazing. It's real proper good snow falling and it's cold aswell. Friday will be sunny... i can't wait ! I'm off all next week and i'm really going to enjoy that !! |

The snow is teasing us.... since a while now but it's has to be tomorrow or during the night.
The sky looks very snowy and we can "smell" it, but not a flake yet. 2 or 3 cm yesterday but not the big dump we are all expecting all over Europe ! It's definitely gonna snow but it look like tuesday afternoon and wednesday plus probably thursday. We'll be there and ready ! |

3. Snowgirl, it is interesting what you say about hire boots. Do most hire shops have currently available boots for hire? And can I change them just like that or will it cost me more each change? I just presumed that hire boots were all old and tatty with no lining and impossible to open or close clips (like mine were!!). A good hire shop should have quite new boots, they are not tatty or completly impossible to set. It won't cost you more to change your boots, normally most shop have one price for boots, they make money on skis, different package (beginner, advanced, pro...). You may drive the saleman a bit crazy, but i'm sure if you find the right boots in his place, you probably buy them, so it's in his interest too and it's his job. You can't ski all week with foot pain !!I don't know your experience, but around my place, shops are really good for boots (new, different style and for different shape of feet too (narrow or wild)) Good luck. For all the info about how prepare your kids for a day skiing, ask the instructor, they all know which equipement take and what is the best for kids. I would just warn you about thirst, you get more deshydrated skiing than on the beach ! And you don't feel it so much, especially kids and old people. Normaly skiing instructor stop in a bar with the kid, so make sure they have couple of euro in their pocket. And there is no doubt all the family get hooked !! Enjoy |

Hi,
I can propose a 6 man appartement, but it's in Tignes, centre of the village of les Brevieres and about 50m from the slopes/lift. From Grenoble it's not to bad, it's about 2h30 driving. If you want more info, please pm me. Cheers. |
