chris callow wrote:Yes to Geneva flights, but why Samoens? Les Carroz is a shorter transfer and easier access to Flaine if snow is dodgy or problems with links. Have a look at http://manxski.com - we're just 45 mins from the airport, a major factor in weekend breaks

Am I right in saying your chalet is 45 mins from Geneva? Do you do transfers?

Oh, and as SnowCrazy said, the Eurostar does stop at Aime on the way there but not on the way back.

THank you for your replies. I have actually got of my lazy arse and done my own research now too. Although some of it is slightly confusing, on the P-V website there is a bus service which I can't work out, and the taxi I have worked out at about 90 euros return or there abouts.

ALi - when are you planning the 2014 trip? If its January I can't come, unless I get a new job

Say goodbye to around 50 mins a day.

Ill leave it then -)

Not possible once the snow arrives.

I can't even leave them out of season, it's like a drug. The mountains have this amazing draw to them. During the summer months there was beautiful blue sky every day, now autumn is nearly here, there are storms and the occasional flurry of snow.

The thunder storms are like nothing I've seen anywhere else, the temperature changes are unbelievable, as is the weather. The mountains are quite simply just awesome.

Oh dear, we have all been there either on skis or a board. My first attempt on skis I did the absolute sin of 'sitting down', since then I've got it right, even on a board.

Sadly I have nothing useful to add to this either; my first thought was about alcohol. What does that say?

Just found out that there are major changes at work which will hit us hard in the pocket. Looks like skiing will be suffering

Bad day, but on the bright side you still have a job and you've paid for your first trip.

Don't be sad x
