Hiring 4x4 from SLC to drive to Park city
Started by Littlemissgrove83 in USA, 7 Replies, discussing Park City and Snowbird
Most rental SUVs will be AWD in the States. I have often rented a car at the airport, and driven up to Park City. I've never needed four wheel drive. Once in a blue moon, you would need snow chains, but that's very rare. As an alternative, shuttles to PC are about $40 per person, and there is a great free bus service between ski areas and around the town.

Found this thread for you http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g57097-i800-k3151419-Rental_cars_chains-Park_City_Utah.html
Quicker edge to edge ski ?

Mens slalom race skis are 12m to 13m radius. Modern skis with side radius of up to 16m are capable of shortish carved turns, but the smaller the radius, the easier it is to learn. Newer skis with tip rocker, or early rise tips make initiation of carved turns easier, as it isn't as important to weight the front of the ski, as it used to be. Having said that, being able to load the front of the ski will shorten turns, and give more control. Carving is really more about technique, than choice of ski.

I am convinced the best skis have a classic, but updated slalom race ski construction. Wood, titanal sheets (not little bits here and there), side walls, some carbon..... no fancy gimmicks.

The Chrome 78 looks interesting. I've been using Rossi 82ti skis, and the extra width is hardly noticeable on hard pack.

I think that there should be a non-helmet forum or ski club.

Snowboarders wearing helmets must really freak you out

Good that the patrollers set it off before the lift was open; could have gone on it's own later.

There is much discussion of this elsewhere, with the inescapable conclusion that our athletes are likely to be better off a) moving to other countries and b) choosing to represent anyone-but-Britain as their best chance of selection.

Perfect example of choosing not to support athletes with medal potential. http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702304899704579389243585521738?mg=reno64-wsj&url=http%3A%2F%2Fonline.wsj.com%2Farticle%2FSB10001424052702304899704579389243585521738.html
Had to laugh. Watching the sl and during the Aussie girl's first run, the commentator says, "look at her, weaving from left to right, red gate, blue gate. I bet the same guy would say during a soccer match, look at him kicking the ball with his foot
ankle moving in ski boots

Choose a superfeet footbed size that best matches the contours of your foot (not necessarily you normal size) . Use the stock innersole as a template to cut the supperfeet to fit your boot. You may still need extra padding around the ankle... http://bootfittingsupply.com/#!/~/category/id=2374229&offset=0&sort=normal.
