Don't think that really makes sense. The better the skier you are normally the faster you go, so surely increasing the need for a helmet.
All the very best skiers in the world wear them don't they? It's compulsary in all racing throughout the world & they don't have anyone else on the slope to hit or trees to crash into or rocks etc.
All of us wear them, even my 2 racers (15 & 19) when free skiing.
Too many idiots on the slopes doing stupid things for my liking.
Rossyhead Don't worry about Kwame embarrassing any of our skiers at the Olympics. He is about 8 secs per run behind our British Junior champion who is only 19. He isn't even going to Vancouver either.
As a follow on to an earlier thread on J2ski about the problems at SSGB & loss of funding of the GB ski team a good initiative will be started at this years Metro Ski & Snowboard show to raise much needed cash for all the team athletes.
A quote from SSGB
"This year SSGB (SnowsportGB) has teamed up with the Metro Ski and Snowboard Show organisers, The Ski Club of GB and SEGA to try raise much needed funds to help support the athletes in the GB team.

There will be two initiatives going on at the time of the Show;

1. The Show organisers have agreed to ask show visitors to donate £2 to the teams when they purchase tickets. Any funds raised will be split between SSGB and Disability
Snowsport UK athletes.
2. SSGB, in conjunction with the Ski Club of Great Britain and SEGA, will have a stand next to the Ski Club's stand at the Show dedicated to fundraising for SSGB athletes. SEGA
are about to launch a new game "Sonic and Mario at the Olympic Winter Games" and visitors to the Show will asked to pay £2 to race against British Team athletes past and
resent.

To give you a few more details about the 'SEGA stand', athletes and visitors will post fastest times down the course (either racing side by side or one at a time). Results will be recorded in a Top Gear style leader board - 'the stars' fastest times will be in one column, 'the visitors' in another column. The visitor with fastest time on each day of the show will win either a Nintendo Wii or Nintendo DS, plus a copy of the soon to be released game "Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games".

So please all J2skiers & friends that go to the show just please donate the £2 when you buy your ticket and also have a challenge with one of the team to see if you can beat them. You may win a Wii or a DS.
The GB team really need your support.
TJ will be there as one to challenge!
Both pairs now sold - thanks
I have 2 pairs of Fischer RC4 Junior Slalom race skis for sale. Both are the 08/09 models. They are 150cm & 11m rad and fitted with Fischer Z11 bindings (DIN 3 - 11). 1 pr was used only for racing on snow and the bases are in great condition with not a mark on them with almost the full edge left.
The other pair were used for training on snow only and the bases are in very good condition with just a couple of light scratches and almost the full edge left. (The scratches would easily come out with the lightest of base grinds)
We were looking for £175 for the race pair and £160 for the training pair. I can post anywhere to mainland UK for just £10 each.
They are my 14-year-old daughter's race & training skis from last season, but she has now moved into the Junior age group and they are not legal to race at FIS level. They are perfectly legal for all Children's age group races though.
The money raised will be used to buy her new race skis for next season.

Please PM me for more details.

Uvex used to make a mirrored race helmet about 3-4 years ago. It was made in various colours - Blue, green, gold & silver. Might be worth trying to get one 2nd hand? they did have a small problem where the mirror effect started top come off after a while, mainly due to slalom gates hitting the helmet though.
Chile or Argentina?

Notwax has been used on the dry slope race circuit for about 5 years now. it really helps to reduce the friction and prolongs the base life of the ski, which really take a hammering on the plastic mat. It certainly does not do any damage at all to the bases.
Pablo - Yep sold every single one of the last lot thanks.
