Hello I'm a noob here so be gentle with me.
After far to many years of skiing without a helmet I have decided after a very heavy fall invest in one. I've been looking for a long time and I've been trying to find one that is mirrored/chromed and I just can't find one and wondered if anybody knew where I could get one. I know it is very chavy but I need something to stand out as my new ski gear is all black and I look like everybody else.
Also in the heavy fall I snapped my atomic's so I now have to replace them. I'm 26 and have been skiing for 20 years. I can ski all over the mountain and I'm looking for an all round ski which is stable at speed. I have looked at Volant skies and wonder if anybody knew anything about them? I do plan on picking up a second hand pair of twin tips so I can trash them in the snow parks and not be worried about how much they cost me.
Any help would be great.

As far as helmets, you should just get one that fits. Mirrored sounds pretty gay to me, why not go for something like a Sweet helmet that you don't see a lot of people wearing (at least not in Canada), check them out at www.sweet.no .
How heavy are you? Are you pretty aggressive when you ski or more relaxed? Where and in what conditions do you like to ski.. if you do all your skiing in the Rockies the ski is going to be a different choice than if you spend your time heather hopping in Scotland.
Edit
Nothing against gay folk, I just imagine if Julian Clary was to ski his helmet would be mirrored.
Sounds good, but I beleive that plastic shell helmets for most sports have warnings about painting and even applying stickers, as the chemicals/solvents can weaken the plastic, or make it brittle. I don't know if there are any fibre glass helmets suitable for snowsports that might be painted.

I'd ski on anything normally in Europe it's harder companced snow but I do love powder when it snows. I'm a fairly agressive skier, 6'0 and between 170-175 pounds.
I'll have a look at sweet helmets thanks.

Probably best to buy one in the style you like & 'paint' it with a chrome effect paint......there are some decent paints availble ( if you dont mind paying for it) that should do the job.

Uvex used to make a mirrored race helmet about 3-4 years ago. It was made in various colours - Blue, green, gold & silver. Might be worth trying to get one 2nd hand? they did have a small problem where the mirror effect started top come off after a while, mainly due to slalom gates hitting the helmet though.
