No bindings but plates fitted. About 50% edge left - only £75 |
I would always use a dry slope. The Norfolk ski club has one of the best in the UK. 180m main slope, 140m intermediate slope, 70m beginners slope, mogul field, waves and a full 1/4 pipe fun park. Some is dendex (with holes in) but most is now snowflex (without holes)
There are many, many people who use it all the time and it really benefits them when they go out to the Alps for their 1 or 2 weeks of snow skiing. I went to Austria just before Christmas with a friend and his daughter both of whom had never skied on snow before just the plastic. They got on great easily coming down some pretty tough reds at the end of day 1. My son TJ learnt on dry slopes at 6 and did not ski on snow until he was 10. He is now ranked top 30 in the world for his age (18)in Downhill, Super G & Super combined. Without the dry slopes he probably would not even be skiing now. Yes they are hard on your skis and if you fall are harder on your body. If you use the hire equipment or constantly use the very hardest of waxes everytime there should be no problems. |
Hi Brucie,
The reason why they are on ebay from Kendal is that the sole distributors of Volkl, Marker & Tecnica is a company called Mastco who are based in Sedburgh, which is about 10 miles from Kendal. They are probably selling old stock off. If you want new Volkl jackets contact Mastco on 01539 621762. They should be able to help with stockists or sell directly. Hope this helps. |
Natco Z-D from Croatia - sorry

A quick report on TJ's races in Megeve.
He completed all 5 FIS races without any major mishaps. A very tough series of races with 8 World cup racers and another 10 Europa cup racers in the field. The first Downhill went ok, just too slow on the flats, so he finished 3 seconds behind winner Yannick Bertrand in 29th place. The 2nd Downhill was much better. He finished in 14th place overall only 2 seconds behind Bertrand and 1.5 secs behind Natco Zrmcic-Dim from Slovenia who won the World championship Bronze medal in Super Combined only 2 weeks previous. TJ scored his best ever Downhill FIS world ranking points which should put him back inside the top 20 in the World for his age. He then did a very solid Slalom run to finish 16th overall in the Super Combined race only 1.8 secs behind Bertrand. He again scored his best FIS points in the SC which should put him in the top 30 in the world for his age. The next 2 days were Super G races. Unfortunately he made mistakes in both races, but still managed to score his 2nd best ever FIS points in the first race. He finished in 32nd & 33rd places respectively. He will stay at No 21 in the World for his age in Super G. He has just arrived in Garmisch ready for the Downhill training at the World Junior champs tomorrow. He is the only racer from GBR as no one else qualified. He should be racing in all 4 events. He's hoping to do better than last year where he skied "like a girl". Sorry all you ladies out there. His words not mine! I'll keep you all posted. |
Hi Tom,
We know Richard Coupe very well. TJ and him used to race a lot together on the dry slope ciruit for Norfolk race team. I spoke to his Dad not lonng ago anf he was telling me all about the development Richard was doing. Sound pretty clever stuff to me! He will be staying with Atomic for as long as possible at the moment. Good luck with the testing and say Hi to Richard from us all. |
