Seriously good run, do it early on in the day around 11am when the sun is on it & you will catch the slope in pretty good condition & quiet with regards to other slope users. Avoid doing it as the last run of the day back to resort, if your still an early intermediate, as late on in the day it can become a bit hectic with some really good french skiers basically bombing it.

My ski boots definitely fit the profile mentioned above, is there anything that can be done to reverse the packing down effect or am i like clipperjon & going to need to buy new boots? Clipperjon, do the holiday & buy some new boots in the closed season when the sales are on. Finn |

Anyone tried or is using this ski this season? Is the waist band wide enough for off-piste, in hard icy conditions is the waist band too wide for short turn edge to edge turns. Looking at buying a new all mountain ski for 50/50 skiing & looking for reviews of the above.
Ta very much. Finn |

If you look at the skis used on the world cup circuit men & women used the same equipment. IMO women's specific skis is just marketing, the construction of men & women's skis is going to be the exactly the same.

The Ski Helmet Debate

Found wearing a helmet this year to be a bit of a bind, every opportunity I had to take it off & let my head breath I took. Helmet off in the cable car, helmet off on the chair lift etc, etc.. probably sounds a bit silly but it became a right pain taking the dam thing off & putting it back on. That said I still felt safer wearing it if not a little uncomfortable.
Must remember to get my hair cut before next trip. :-o Finn |

Having just returned from driving to Austria can offer this advice. Remember to pump out the contents of your vehicles screen wash reservoir before leaving the uk & replenish it with neat or concentrated wash mix capable of withstanding sub zero temperatures. If we had done this our 1000km journey which should have taken approx 9hrs would have been enjoyable instead it was a bloody nightmare which took 16hrs, this was partly down to difficult driving conditions but in the main because our screen wash system froze up meaning we were unable to clean the windscreen & see where we we going! Must emphasise that this little oversight caused an awful lot of unnecessary fear & difficult decision making on the safety of our onward journey.

Were finally on our way after a day of what can only be described as chaos. Set off today for Austria, planned route via overnight ferry from Hull to Rotterdam. Our journey across country was challenging because the trans pennine route was blocked with snow! Diversion ensued & after many hours driving we made it to Hull. Time to relax, then we noticed there was no ferry in the port, panic sets in for the second time in one day. Managed to swap onto another ferry after pleeding our case with the booking office staff so we are now aboard on route to Zeebrugge. Time to relax in the bar & recalculate our route down into Austria. I thought going on holiday was supposed to be fun.
