We stayed in the Sporthotel in Soldeu Andorra many years ago & really enjoyed it, as I remember the skiing was well suited to early intermediates & the snow conditions were excellent in January. I believe there has been a lot of development going on linking up neighbouring ski stations. All round good choice I would say, plenty to do for non skiers spa facilities, shopping etc... It is a place that is on my list to go back to in the near future. Finn |

Travelmoneyservices & other pre-order sites are currently offering 1.13 euro to the pound for December & January delivery. Probably the best
deal around at the moment, just ordered mine in an effort to keep the overall cost of the holiday down. Finn |

Hello Gemski
Mayrhofen is really good & is up there as one of my favourite resorts, with the exception of the cue to get up onto the Penken I can't think of anything negative to say about the place. The village has grown but still has charm, good nightlife & après ski . Niederau is much smaller & has a very loyal following of guests who return year in year out of which I am one but to be fair I usually self drive & use Niederau as a base to explore the Kitzbuhler Alpen region. If you want miles of piste go to M & if you want small & personal go N. Hope this helps. |

Will definitely have Snow Patrols track spitting games coming through the earpiece safely tucked away under my helmet!

Hello Dorset
Best to say that I have done many crazy things in my life but wearing a ski helmet is not one off them. Wearing one doesn't turn oneself into a inconsiderate slope user, just makes me feel safer that's all. Have still to work out how to do a thread! |

Tony it's as simple as this, I remember being reluctant to move over to carvers but in the end I did & found the whole experience of skiing a lot more fun. I too was reluctant about wearing a helmet but in the end found the whole skiing experience to be heightened from the feeling of security you get when you wear one. The only time the helmet thing really bothers me is on warm skiing days, small price to pay really. Be safe & keep the elements, wear a helmet. That's my view but at the end of the day it's personal choice.
Thanks for the warm welcome. Mark (Finn is the name of our dog, daft user name really) |
