I'm in on a northern Jet2Ski meet up but would prefer Chill Factore to Castleford really. I'm from Lancashire (like MFC)and proud of it. I live close to the Pennines, the Trough of Bowland (the Queens favourite AONB)& South Cumbria where I can be found walking the Wainwrights and sailing a boat on Windermere most weekends. Oh and did I mention I'm less than a two hour drive from the Snowdonia National Park and the beautiful North Wales Coast. The only downside is that when I go skiing I have a 5 hour drive to Dover....

I started to watch this and then bottled out and I tend to stick to the pistes - I will make my son watch it though....he has already survived one avalanche that was small but for him almost deadly.

Last year we flew into Grenoble with the dreaded RYANAIR at half term from Prestwick (flights were incredibly cheap and we had lent our driving friends our roof box for free ski carriage!!) All the flights from UK landed within a few minutes of each other and we had to queue for an hour and a half to get our car - nightmare. The combination of Ryanair and Grenoble airport is not a good one - no boots or helmets in hand luggage, you have to wear all your clothes to keep within the 15kg baggage limit, smallest car hire unit ever at an airport and only one desk for the cheapest car hire company.......
To back up Dave Mac driving from Innsbruck to N last year we saw the traffic (on the other side of the AB) from Germany. If the public transport links are good I would use them OP. |

Is there a Part 2 planned? Can't come to the get together as working but could go on Saturday as flying from Gatwick Sunday morning for my first ever Sailing Holiday :D
Great view of Morecambe Bay over to Arnside and Cumbria from your deck MFC - I am quite envious  |

I thought about this question and tried to imagine my first day on the top of the mountain in December and my eyes welled up  The anticipation and excitement of the last few months and then you are there, looking out over a vast white, majestic landscape, breathing in crisp alpine air. You start to make your way down and the speed increases your excitement and enjoyment of your surroundings. All you can think about is getting down as fast and as safely as you can and all thoughts of work are then banished for an entire week. That is why I ski....

Try it in Firefox - it worked for me - I really enjoyed the video. Not to sure about the quality of the piste grooming out there though....
