Looking for anyone who has stayed here especially in the "hamlet" called Le Villard?

Looking at getting a large self catered chalet for the 2 weeks at easter and there are a few here but worried it may be miles out the way.

One of the ones I have looked at is l'Orcières-any ideas???

Cheers :D :D

Hi Ross,

I haven't stayed in Le Villard. But I have stayed in St Martin. It is a pleasant, low-key village with good access to the main 3 valleys areas. It has some great restaurants and a couple of decent low key bars. there are no all night party bars as in some of the other areas. The skiing down to st martin is all easy beginner runs. However it is a good base from which you can get to all of the other areas without too much trouble. Do be careful not to miss the Becca chair if you spend the day in Val Thorens.

Hi Ross

I am a great big fan of St Martin - I will be visiting three times this winter. Le Villard is about 1.5 km away from St Martin and as far as I know does not have any bars. The chalet does look lovely (I have seen it advertised on the Facebook group) and if you like peace, quiet and tranquility will be great. St Martin whilst only having a few bars they are generally quite lively in high season. We prefer to stop in the village so that they are in walking distance. I don't know what l'Orcieres charges but this apartment looks great to me and overlooks the gondola

Google Agence des Alpes, Agence des Bellevilles, Three Valleys Immobilier as they all have online booking and lots of self catering accommadation between them. I have a rough idea where most of it is so give me a shout if you need any more info!

The skiing is great - direct access to the huge 3V. We go over to Val Thorens a lot at Easter. The run down to St Martin was fine last Easter - better than at Les Menuires higher up. The village is also sunny and warm for late afternoon sunbathing after the slopes! I will be staying in a small but perfectly formed and comfortable apartment next to the Gondola so if you book Le Cochet I will expect an invite to watch the 40 inch Samsung with full SKY!!!

I quite like the countdown that shows only 77 days until the lifts open
