snowb4ndit wrote:I am arriving in Moutiers at 9:15 (French time) going to Les Menuires. I have booked a transfer with Altibus but it does not leave until 12:15. It is only a half hour journey and waiting around for nearly three hours is a bit of a pain. (Taxis seem very expensive.)

Does anybody have any suggestions? Are there any alternative ways of getting to Les Men? If not can anyone suggest a good way of spending two and a half hours in Moutier (baring in mind we will be carting skis and luggage around with us.

There's a little cafe at Moutiers railway station where the buses go from. You could always talk really nicely to one of the TO reps and see if you can blag a seat on their bus.

cem is definitely the man to help you with this one. Pablo may be able to point you in the direction of a good boot fitter in your area.

A pair of Oakley Half Jackets will cost around £80. Yes it's a lot compared to a pair of safety glasses but I don't just wear my Oakleys for skiing. I work in them, cycle, sail etc etc. The lenses are impact tested and the frames are designed not to splinter on impact. Having had them for over 7 years I think approx £11.50 per year for a pair of sunglasses isn't too expensive.
By the way, it wasn't me that gave the one star.

Edit: Returned mine to Oakley for a minor repair. They came back with the lens scratches removed, new ear rubbers and the repair done - cost nil.

I've had a pair of Oakley Half Jackets for the last 7 years. Can't remember the tint but it's plenty dark enough for blue sky days. If you want to change lenses it's a doddle. Ideal if you want to use a clear lens for cycling for example.
