I am arriving in Moutiers at 9:15 (French time) going to Les Menuires. I have booked a transfer with Altibus but it does not leave until 12:15. It is only a half hour journey and waiting around for nearly three hours is a bit of a pain. (Taxis seem very expensive.)
Does anybody have any suggestions? Are there any alternative ways of getting to Les Men? If not can anyone suggest a good way of spending two and a half hours in Moutier (baring in mind we will be carting skis and luggage around with us.
Les Menuires transfers.

Thank you for that randyrat.
I did look into it but:
1. There are four of us with luggage and skis and boots so a Fiat Panda sized car will not suffice.
2. It's £150 more expensive than getting the bus.
3. I will end up being the cabby for a week which is one of the duty's I want to get away from.
4. I've never used snow chains.
5. Parking!
We have resigned ourself to a two and a half hour wait now but plan to have breakfast and visit the hypermarket to save doing it in resort.
:D
I'm going to have to have a word with her about what husbands are for!
Her hands and arms being smaller get around to tyres a lot easier

Snowbandit, I'm afraid we've only ever used Altibus. Normally however we don't have to wait more than about half an hour for a bus to get from the train station to the resort.
We will be stuck in Moutiers ourselves for several hours on a Saturday evening, because we're getting the late night train back. I was hoping they had some left luggage facilities. We've been there before, and I don't remember seeing any, but then I wasn't particularly looking. I think it was Bourg St Maurice where I remember us sitting in a cafe surrounded by luggage.

Altibus timetable usually has a 10.45 bus which would have been perfect but the timetable jumps from 7.45 to 12.15 on that day. Just my luck! We will be having a very long coffee somewhere I suspect and that will be very frustrating knowing that skiing could be half an hour away!

Hire car?
About £200 for the week from the airport...book in advance and get a few quid off...it's only an hours drive, but at least you have the option in resort to venture elsewhere if the weather closes in....
When are you going?
