Hi,

Can anyone give me any tips on a decent pair of ski sunglasses. I want to spend no more than say £70 and envisage using them for blue sky skiing (got goggles for the rest). I've no idea re lenses or tints or even makes so any tips or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Oakleys with VR28 lenses for sun with snow .
Something like flak jackets xlj and you can change the lenses if you want to use them for other stuff
when back in UK.
You should be able to pick some up 4 around your budget

My personal opinion is there is no need to have various changeable lenses for sunglasses for recreational skiing. You do want a decent pair, but IMO no point in going mad.
I bought a really smart pair of Dirty Dog sunnies last year, paid £35 for them, rrp £60. Ended up as usual breaking them (one pair each trip usually...) and found someone selling the very same ones on Ebay for £9.99. So I bought 2 pairs!

If its not sunny, I wear goggles. If its sunny, I go with sunnies. I really have to say I dont see the need to have several interchangeable lenses as I can use either gloasses or goggles, but then I only ski for 3 weeks a season.

Now, shoot me down in flames and tell me I am just a part timer.....

I don't wear sun glasses anymore because they steam up.

Keep in mind Oakley warranty is absolutely ace, even if you are at fault for breaking them ;)

I've had a pair of Oakley Half Jackets for the last 7 years. Can't remember the tint but it's plenty dark enough for blue sky days. If you want to change lenses it's a doddle. Ideal if you want to use a clear lens for cycling for example.

Save yourself sixty pounds, and buy a couple of pairs of these. I gave up on spendy sun glasses after someone sat on my Ray-bans. You can can afford to throw these away, if they get scratched, and have a spare pair. Also, you know that they are design to minimise injury if you fall on your face (I've seen people do that with the wrong sunglasses on, and it's not pretty.
