You can hire in resort. My reservation on doing it would be how do you know if the lid has taken a knock? Evidence of an impact may not be visible.
I paid approx £80 for my Giro 10 last season. OH has just bought a Saloman helmet for about £65. Hire cost was less than £20 in Grindelwald. Features I was looking for apart from the obvious EU standards was good & adjustable vents, adjustment of the head band, which with the Giro is via a dial at the back and comfort. And finally, take your goggles with you if you go to try to make sure the helmet / goggle combo is compatible |

Wow!! You crazy fool!! I've watched the race at various locations including just by the combined downhill start gate. The jump there is insane. I'm surprised the course was open given that race day isn't too far away. Canadian Corner that follows is a very tight right hander with the camber throwing you down the hill.
Last year, I went up to the slalom start gate and got the heebie geebies just looking down the pitch. Maybe one day if I keep practising I'll inch my way down it. Are you going to the race this year?? I was thinking about it but reckon accomodation will be impossible. No not this year. Have done the last two years but stayed in Grindelwald and got the train up. It's a great spectacle. Last year, we watched practice from in the main grsndstand and the main downhill race at Canadian Corner. The Saturday night in Wengen is legendary. Plenty of late trains laid on down to Interlaken and back over to Grindelwald. |
